It’s easy enough to find a business opportunity. Just count the products you’ve seen lately that made you think ‘I could have thought of that’. Think of all the times you saw a product and knew you’d have no trouble getting all your friends and family to buy it.
The real problem is how to get started. Whether it’s your own invention or something like a franchise, you’ll need some help, as well as some information. At that point, you’ll find yourself asking where to find the real people reviews on this awesome business opportunity. What you need is someone who’s been there, done that, and is willing to tell you all about it. You need to hear what might go wrong, so you’ll be warned, but also how well it might go - you’ll need the enthousiasm.
The most difficult source of such information is probably coffee shop conversation. Walking up to strangers to ask about business opportunities in your area and get their opinions generally will not provide the fastest results for you. Not everyone in a town knows of opportunities that are available, especially in your areas of interest.
Local newspapers and magazines are a better bet. Often, you can find business publications that review upcoming businesses in your area. Expect to find interviews with people who are in those businesses. Some of these businesses may have opportunities for you!
Your local radio station may also have a radio program on business topics, which will occasionally cover business opportunities. The hosts of these shows may point you towards business opportunities and people who have experience with these opportunities. Once you’ve gotten your business started, the business programming will provide valuable information and key contacts.
A great place to look for real people reviews is the internet, which is also the richest and fastest source of information about business opportunities. Crank up a search engine and use keywords like ‘franchise’ or ‘business opportunity’ and other keywords related to the type of opportunity you’re looking for. Also, look for online communities of people in your type of business, and network with them.
Such a network can also be found through your local community, and can be another source of information. For instance, most communities have a computer user group discusses various topics during their monthly meetings. A group like that could provide you with the reviews you need and help you achieve your goal.
Request references from the franchise or current business owner as soon as you’re serious about a business opportunity. It will tell you which types of people are succesful in this kind of business and what kind of skills you will need.
There are always business opportunities available to us. Knowing people who have experienced the good and bad of various businesses allows you to find a business opportunity that fits your skills and personality. Once you have the information from others who have walked before you, you will have the confidence to move forward.
